Companies and educational facilities that are considering the use of eLearning techniques often do so simply because this type of process makes teaching more effective. By providing interactive tutorials and lessons that are more direct and dense than traditional methods, organizations can save money on educational classes and produce a better generation of pupils and workers.

However, eLearning development also has a secondary side effect, which is that it encourages the use of mobile devices and PCs that can streamline education in other ways and cut costs even further by making learning a lot more efficient. One way to do this is through the use of apps, many of which are free of charge on tablet PCs such as the iPad but can also be downloaded on many regular computers.

For example, a program like Haiku can be used by teachers to plan lessons and keep track of the information that needs to be taught on a particular day. Applications such as LearnBoost make recording and calculating grades very easy, which makes the administrative work a teacher has to perform quite a bit easier. Students can even use apps like Digication to keep track of their assignments and organize them properly.
