CSE Software Inc. Develops New City of Peoria Website

By February 25th, 2013No Comments

Peoria, Ill.—CSE Software, an IT company known for creative thinking, redeveloped the City of Peoria website at www.peoriagov.org. The new website features 225 pages and an entirely new look and more user-friendly format.

CSE’s multimedia development team worked closely with city council members, citizens and city staffers to create a new navigation system and expand content to give users a better experience. The site features dedicated areas for residents, businesses and visitors as well as news, meetings and events. Visitors can find city services; quick links to codes and ordinances; employment; and a multitude of other helpful information such as a “Citizen’s Information Center” or apply online to serve on a commission. In the case of a city- or regional-wide emergency, any city staffer can go in and turn on this plug-in which will then cause a colored bar to go across the top of the website with a brief description of the event and a “click here to read more” link.

Once functionality and design were in place, the site went through rigorous rounds of quality assurance testing at CSE. Several hours of training was conducted with city personnel to explain the user and editing side of the site. Vice President Renee Gorrell and multimedia developer Nick Striegel unveiled the new site at the Sept. 12th City Council meeting to great enthusiasm.
