Mary Scroggs Encourages CSE Employees

By July 2nd, 2012No Comments

CSE recently received a special visit from Mary Scroggs, a visually impaired motivational speaker with a riveting story and message. One fateful day in 1994, Mary was sitting and visiting with friends in front of the Caterpillar World Headquarters on Adams Street when she and two other women were hit by a drunk driver. After being in a coma for 8 weeks, Mary regained consciousness, but was left with some serious disabilities that, at this time, cannot be reversed. The right side of her face extending down the throat is partially paralyzed. She has Parkinsonism on the right side of her body which causes constant trembling. Mary also has optic nerve damage to her left eye leaving her functionally blind. She does not let these limitations keep her down, however, and speaks to many groups today of her experience, the dangers of drunk driving, and keeping a positive attitude in the most disheartening of life’s situations.

She is available to speak to any organization or group that would invite her. To schedule Mary to come speak to your group, call 309.637.1619 or email scroggsw16a@comcast.net. She can also be seen on many videos on YouTube, including Mary Scroggs’ Power of Life. Mary shared her story and herself with CSE and not one person in attendance was left unaffected by her amazing message.
