Thursday, July 9, CSE Software Inc. participated in the 4G STEM Camp, which hosted 7th and 8th grade girls from local area schools. STEM Camp introduces girls to careers in science, technology, engineering and math and is organized by the University of Illinois Extension, Bradley University and the Peoria Economic Development Council.

The students spend the week at different locations where they can be exposed to different STEM careers. Among other experiences at CSE, the girls met with the women of CSE at their downtown office to learn about their roles in the company, and met with two of the 3D programmers who coached the girls in a coding class. In the afternoon they visited Simformotion’s 17,000 sq. ft. warehouse in East Peoria, IL where they had a hands-on experience assembling heavy equipment simulators. The girls had to work as teams and follow detailed instructions in order to assemble the simulators. They were then able to operate the Track Type Tractor and Hydraulic Excavator Simulators on the motion platform to understand how the machines work and how a person experiences movement and vibration while on the machine.

Simformotion LLC is a licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc. CSE Software develops simulation software for Cat Simulators. In addition the company develops custom business and simulation software, mobile and web applications for many other businesses.
